Irv received his undergraduate degree from California State University , Northridge, in 1967, with a major in Accounting. He received his J.D. degree from Loyola University, School of Law, in 1970, and co-founded the law firm of Dushane, Wienerman and Zaroff. In 1972, he co-founded a women’s apparel manufacturing company that became the largest seller of women’s jeans in California. Irv brought his legal and accounting training to bear as the Executive Vice-President responsible for financial and legal matters. Irv received his Master Of Arts Degree from Phillips Graduate Institute in 1990, with a major in Marriage and Family Therapy. He has been practicing as a licensed marriage and family therapist and divorce mediator ever since. In 2004 he co-founded the Center for Cooperative Divorce with Dana Schutz, a licensed marriage and family therapist. Dana and Irv have many years experience working together with high conflict families, parent education, and school counseling. Irv teaches as a core adjunct professor at National University in the master’s program for marriage and family therapy. His course instruction includes Law & Ethics, Child and Adolescent Counseling, Family Therapy, and Practicum (a course geared toward integrating all previous instruction toward clinical application). He has presented legal and ethical workshops for faculty and colleagues at Phillips Graduate Institute. He currently supervises marriage and family therapists in private practice and school counselors in an elementary school district. Irv was admitted to practice by the California State Bar, United States District Court, and the United States Tax Court in 1971. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, San Fernando Valley Bar Association, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, San Fernando Valley Chapter – California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Southern California Mediation Association. Irv is married to a licensed marriage and family therapist in the San Fernando Valley (Encino), has two adult children, and two wonderful granddaughters. He is also an avid consumer of both fiction and non-fiction audio books to compensate for the stress of driving on the Southern California freeways.
In 2006, she was named Outstanding Judicial Officer of the Year by the National Child Support Enforcement Association, a 65,000-member national organization. She was praised for seeking to inspire people to be productive, supportive and involved parents and for making fair and realistic orders to ensure consistent payments to benefit the children in her cases. Prior to serving on the Superior Court, Commissioner Lee was an Administrative Law Judge with the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board. During her tenure she heard appeals from employees denied unemployment and disability benefits and gained insights into the specials needs and problems of the workforce in general. After graduating law school, Roberta maintained a private practice with her husband before joining the faculty for Pepperdine University School of Law, teaching and serving as career coordinator for graduating students. She received her J.D. degree from Loyola University, School of Law, and achieving membership in the Sir Thomas More Law Honor Society. A world traveler, at ease with foreign languages, and steeped in culture, Roberta spends much of her time with her family and wide circle of friends enjoying the arts and, especially, music. In addition to his training and experience with children, adults and couples as a Marriage and Family Therapist, his passion and concern for helping people function at their best in emotionally trying situations is what he brings to the mediation setting. His community work includes developing and implementing outreach programs to help families utilize the services at the Watts Multipurpose Health Center. Dick has also studied at the Pepperdine University Alternative Dispute Program with specialized training in family mediation services. He is married, the father of two sons, and has four young grandchildren. His hobbies include tennis and sculpting. Dick is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association

Irving Zaroff, JD, LMFT / (Co-Founder of CFCD) brings diverse experience to the mediation process. Holding dual licenses as a Marriage and Family Therapist and an Attorney at Law, he brings a useful mix of skills to the mediation process. His law practice included domestic relations, business and tax law, and appellate review.
Roberta Winograde Lee adds a wealth of experience, knowledge and wisdom to the mediation team at the Center for Cooperative Divorce. After retiring as a Commissioner from the Los Angeles Superior Court, Commissioner Lee completed a distinguished career, serving 12 years hearing cases involving parentage, child support and criminal failure to support, in the special Child Support Court, an adjunct to the Family Law Department of the Superior Court. She was the Managing Commissioner of the four Child Support courtrooms for six years.
Richard Willis has worked as a health care professional for more than 45 years. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Santa Monica. Dick is a graduate of the USC School of Dentistry and earned a Masters in Public Health from the UCLA School of Public Health. He has developed curricula and taught courses to dental and medical professionals at both the UCLA and USC graduate schools in the Health Sciences. These were courses focussing on teaching health practitioners the communication skills they need to be effective caregivers.
