Divorce Mediation
The process of divorce addresses four areas needing attention: identification and distribution of assets and liabilities; alimony (spousal support); child custody; and child support. We provide a structure with step-by-step guidance to help couples meet these four areas of need. This is the mediation process.

Component Mediation
In component mediation, the mediation process focuses on a specific area that is at issue.

Property and debt.
We may help in deciding how to evaluate and distribute properties, manage debt, or restructure jointly held assets and liabilities. Every plan has its unique qualities. Emotional attachments, economic fears, sense of entitlement, and other motivations may make certain arrangements more difficult to accept. In mediation, acknowledging the underlying interests can help with creative solutions.

Parenting plans.
Mediation may be limited to creating or modifying an existing parenting plan. As children grow, the lives of divorced individuals change, economics shift, or other environmental factors begin to test how children are cared for. When parents are struggling with their views of the children’s needs, mediation can help. Mediators informed on child development issues, psychological impacts of divorce on children and adults, parenting skills, and knowledge of likely legal outcomes, can be the catalyst for a practical solution to parent/parent/child issues.

Financial support.
The dollar can only stretch so far. Few couples can enjoy the same standard of living as singles that they did as a couple. Mediation provides opportunities to explore the needs of everyone involved and figure out how limited resources can best be used to meet these needs.

Filing for Divorce (Court Documents)
We offer full document preparation including a final Marriage Settlement Agreement, all court document preparation and filings, up to and including the Final Judgment.

Fees
Services are based on an hourly fee. Court document preparation may be based on a flat fee. Our average fees for mediation of a divorce are far below the cost of a litigated divorce or a collaborative divorce.
